Ryan T. Martin is an associate with the firm practicing in the areas of admiralty and commercial litigation. He also assists clients in a wide variety of transactional and business matters, including the negotiation of various maritime contracts and offshore Master Service Agreements. Prior to joining the firm, Ryan worked for another prominent New Orleans litigation firm specializing in maritime and toxic tort defense.
Ryan received his B.A. in History with a Minor in Sociology from the University of Virginia in 2008. In the years between his undergraduate and law school studies, Ryan worked as a cruise director and naturalist on various small ship cruises in Alaska and Japan. In 2013, Ryan obtained his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School with a Certificate in Maritime Law. During law school, he served as Notes and Comments Editor for the Tulane Maritime Law Journal and as a Coach and Participant on the John R. Brown Admiralty Appellate Moot Court Team. After law school, Ryan served as a judicial law clerk for Chief Judge Ulysses Gene Thibodeaux of the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeal.
Ryan is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the Southeast Admiralty Law Institute. He is licensed to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts.
